Our world is a melting pot. A rich mix of ethnicities, cultures and religions working together as a global society. In order to become productive adults, today’s children must first learn to accept and respect the diverse backgrounds of their classmates.
Teaching students about these differences is the foundation of Melrose Elementary School. From pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade, our students learn important life skills through an engaging curriculum that’s as dynamic and diverse as the world around us. By learning what we call “The Eight Intelligences,” students are taught global studies at a pace that fits their individual needs.
Through this unique approach to elementary education, our students are succeeding, and the Miami community has taken notice. Melrose Elementary has received several awards, including the Miami-Dade Public Schools’ Platinum and Gold Awards of Achievement and the Florida School Recognition Award for improving and sustaining high achievement.
